At the end of my rope :(
by tec inbut i guess this is my first big rant.. this last year has been the hardest year of my life.
my son tried to kill himself ( he did something pretty bad, got caught, and i guess that's the only way he thought to deal) i am also very close to actually hating my husband, and i do not hate people.
and every decision that i make lately seems to be the wrong one.

Tammy
It has been a rough few days for you.
I'm glad you and your husband have found a way to take a more positive look at what you share and staying together as a family.
Sometimes relationships need a spring clean.

Weird, Weird Dream
by snowbird inwhen i left my sorry, no-account first husband, i moved in with one of my sisters in a big old house with a huge kitchen.. well, last night i dreamed that this was now my house, and a group of jw's were invited by my little jw college daughter to come there and prepare sandwiches for the convention.. they were in my kitchen, preparing food in assembly-line fashion, but refusing to speak to me!
i was so angry and indignant that i woke myself up fuming.
what in the world!!!???

Sylvia - I thought you only dreamt about me being in your kitchen.
Or would that be a nightmare?

Is it unacceptable to stand up for Jehovah's Witnesses on a site called Jehovah's-Witness.net?
by THE GLADIATOR ini fail to see why people such as alice in wonderland, bane and others, are regularly singled out as tolls.
demands are repeatedly made that they are shunned and thrown off the forum; while people like perry, who rant on with pages of controversial drivel, are considered acceptable?.
i personaly don't view any of them as trolls, just people who feel a need to stand up for what they believe.

In view of all the fuss about Alice in Wonderland, I Couldn’t resist this:
Remember the Red Queen in the story of Alice in Wonderland? The one that kept shouting, "Off with their heads!"
"First of all we execute people and then we try them and then we decide what to charge them with."

Believingxjw: Is this a closed board or one open to all ideas even those that may offend former Witnesses?
When I started this thread I asked the question in the title. Above is a related question from believingxjw.
I asked to be educated. Your replies and opinions are and have been an education to me.
I have not been able to comment on all your replies but I do appreciate them. On average I start less than one thread a year. I tend to comment on other peoples topics. Thanks for making this topic interesting and avoiding it being a flop.
The topic is not specifically about Alice . Because she has most recently been fiercely debating in support of JWs, she seems to be on everyone’s mind.
There will be other JWs who come here to defend their beliefs and values. Some will be angry and hostile. We are all at different stages of development and all have our own way of reacting to them.
I have at times been accused by Christians of retaining a black and white attitude, from my JW days. I guess we all retain some of the traits we learned as JWs. We are predisposed to defend our point of view and drive away anyone that threatens our beliefs.
Has this thread in any way altered your view?
We must each decide which is best, holding close or pushing away.
Which is more powerful, the sword or the embrace?

Can you "fornicate" with your marriage mate? I've heard the WTBTS says that you can. Is this true?
by ultrabimbo inis it true that the current thinking of jehovah's witnesses is that you can "fornicate" with your marriage mate if you engage in sexual activity that is not approved by the writing department at bethel?
what are some examples?.

We go every year for a few days. Venice is her favourite place.

Can Jehovah Really Read Hearts?
by Yan Bibiyan in(a)if jehovah can really read the heart, then he with no doubt would have read the hearts of the perfect adam and eve and would have known that they will sin when set up for a (failure) test.
then he would have known that he will punish them and all mankind for many thousands of years, which would case immense suffering, all to prove a point to his archnemesis!.
in the real world, an example comes to mind.

How can a Hebrew desert god that is incapable of writing a coherent book, read anything?
My apologies, but I do so enjoy my little digs.

SweetBabyCheezits Good comment & quote!
Holey_Cheeses*King_of_the juice.
Having studied your avatar, I can see how the predicament you are in would make it difficult to read comments.
My advice is - go easy on the vaseline next time!

From where I live in the south of England, it is just 1.5 hours flight to Venice on Easy Jet. I know a small hotel near Saint Marks square.
Venice is a most romantic city. Wandering around over Canals and bridges. Visiting the museums and art galleries & shopping. Then in the evening an Italian meal and a stroll. Or there is an ancient church where the hold a Vivaldi's 4 seasons concert in the evening.
